James K. White to seek district four seat

A third candidate has filed required papers to square off against former Elk Grove City Charter Commissioner Jimmie Johnson and incumbent Gary Davis for Elk Grove’s fourth district city council seat.

James Kirk White of Sandgate Lane will face Johnson and Davis in the November election.

Coincidental to his city council candidacy, White had sought an appointment to the Elk Grove Historic Preservation Committee. That appointment was unanimously rejected at the Wednesday, July 28 meeting as council members said it was not appropriate for someone to seek an appointment while running for the council.

White’s application for the historic committee says that he has lived in Sacramento County for 25 years, is the father of two and that he wants “to become active in the surrounding community.”

The application lists White’s occupation as the general manager of the Fresh Choice restaurant in Roseville.

Earlier EGN sent a request to White seeking comment on his candidacy but had not heard back as of posting time.

Ah Gary, nothing to worry about!!

Last time it was two Dans. This time, two Jimmie's! And after you won, we never heard from the two Dans again. And Briggs always had something to say. Funny, we haven't heard a word in four years. And that's a blessing.

Thank you Gary in advance for the next four years!
