Laguna Day Spa Burglar Toss Cinder Block, Evade Cops

Burglars evaded apprehension by Elk Grove Police early Thursday following a vehicle pursuit.

According to police reports, officers responded to a burglary alarm at the Laguna Day Spa when they observed a dark blue Ford Crown Victoria leaving the area. When officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop, the vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit, vehicle occupants threw a large cinder block on the road to thwart police efforts. Two police units struck the debris which resulted in several flattened tires.

The suspects were able to evade pursuit. Officers later determined the spa had been burglarized. No physical description of the suspects was available.
