Last night a car driving along West Camden Drive in Elk Grove hit a tree in the median and flipped. Witnesses arriving immediately after the collision found the overturned car but no driver.
Responding officers received a call from the suspect who was at his nearby home. Upon contact with the suspect, 42-year old Jeffrey Bedford, officers observed objective signs of impairment.
The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Are we sure the tree didn't hit the car?
My guess is that if this tree is hit a few more times it will be removed by the city as an
"obstacle," impeding the orderly flow of vehicular traffic in our fair city.
Regardless of "objective signs of impairment..."
