Every so often going off topic is refreshing. Tonight is one of those occasions.

Earlier today we received an e-mail from the Travel Network promoting their popular food show, Man v. Food. In exchange for some promotion of Wednesday's new episode where host Adam Rich visits Sacramento, we were able to view an advance airing of the show.

The main challenge of Rich's visit was to see if he could knock-down a colossal 5 lb chili dog, dubbed the Knucklehead, in 20 minutes at Parker's Hot Dogs in Roseville. The Sacramento visit also included stops at last summer's State Fair for some deep fried goodies and a visit to a personal favorite of ours, Downtown Sac's Jim Denny's on 12th Street.

So was Rich able to take down the Knucklehead? To find out tune in to the Travel Channel this Wednesday at 9 pm. Sorry, we promised not to let it out who won in the latest round of Man v. Food.

See a sneak preview below.
