Local campaigns swing into full gear

With a little over 72 hours before polls close on Tuesday, campaigns for the Elk Grove City Council kicked into high gear this weekend.

Along with an usual assortment of political mailers and one dirty-trick mailer (check back for related story later today) the campaigns were very active today.

Along Laguna Boulevard this afternoon, several volunteer sign wavers for Elk Grove City Council Candidate George Murphey were spotted. One waver in particular seemed to being cashing in on Halloween and the San Francisco Giants.

A visit to the Elk Grove Council Member Gary Davis' campaign office found the candidate making a quick office stop to replenish he campaign literature in a day filled with precinct walking.

Davis said today alone he talked to several voters on a one-to-one basis while walking.

"It's going well out there," Davis said. "We are getting a lot of positive feedback."
