With a high percentage of precincts reporting, Democrats Joan Buchanan and Alyson Huber both appear headed to reelection to second terms in the California State Assembly.

Buchanan and Huber represent the 15th and 10th assembly districts respectively. Elk Grove is gerrymandered between the two districts.

Both Assembly Members faced the same opponents as they did in 2008.

This time around Huber, who had a huge financial advantage, overwhelmed her opponent former San Joaquin County Supervisor Jack Sieglock. In 2008 Huber's victory came several weeks after the election and was by the slimmest of margins.

Buchanan again ran against Abram Wilson, mayor of San Ramon.
