In the hotly contested race between incumbent Pat Hume, George Murphy and Davies Ononiwu for Elk Grove's District 2 City Council seat, Hume has taken an early lead. With 50 percent of the precincts reporting, Hume has 5,040 votes, Murphey 4,188 and Ononiwu 2,252.
