Didn't Elk Grove First's founders criticize that other community group at the podium and in the Citizen for bringing forth ordinances? Now they want to advocate whom the council appoints to the planning commission based on where they live.
What if there are two applicants who are more than qualified from the same district and one that isn't from another. Do you appoint an applicant solely based on where they live?
Case in point: District 2. District 2's planning commissioner is an urbanite. Does that mean he doesn't understand the rural lifestyle and therefore he should resign?
And the question has been since incorporation: Why haven't the council members appointed planning commissioners from the districts they represent?
Interesting . . .
