Vigilant Witnesses Help Elk Grove Police Catch Purse Snatcher

With the help of witnesses, Elk Grove Police were able to recover a snatched purse on Friday morning.

According to police reports, 18-year old Kyle Smith of Elk Grove approached and his female victim in a parking lot located on Franklin Boulevard and Laguna Boulevard  and grabbed her purse from her arm and flee the area on foot.

Witnesses observed the theft and followed the suspect to nearby apartments. Responding officers were able to locate Smith and witnesses were able to positively identify him. Smith was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
