Elk Grove Police Catch Stockton Car Thief

Also make narcotics, domestic violence arrests

A Stockton man was arrested yesterday morning following a vehicle collision where the suspect attempted to flee the accident.

According to police reports 24-year old David Thao of Stockton was operating a vehicle near Bruceville Road near Di Lusso Drive when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle. The suspect allegedly exited the car and fled the scene on foot.

Responding officers detained Thao a short distance away. A records check that the vehicle involved in the collision had been reported stolen out of Stockton. Thao was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

In other activity, police arrested 38-year old Shane Gray of Sacramento after a traffic stop near Cantwell Drive and Eastleigh Drive. The suspect, who is on probation, was found to be in possession of narcotics. Gray was arrested and transferred to the county jail. 

Police also made two arrests in domestic violence cases. Both suspects are alleged to have physically attacked their suspects.
