Suspected drunk driver in possession of metal knuckles

A drunk driving suspect arrested early Saturday morning by Elk Grove Police was found also to be in possession of metal knuckles.

According to police department reports, officers stopped a vehicle being driven by 21-year old Matthew of Meredith of Carmichael for a vehicle code violation on Elk Grove Boulevard and Highway 99. Upon contact the suspect displayed objective signs of impairment and performed poorly on a sobriety test.

Upon inspection of the vehicle, officers discovered a pair of metal knuckles and a butterfly knife. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
