During tomorrow night's regular meeting the Elk Grove City Council will, among other items of business, consider replacing the current planning department contractor.
The recommendation from the city staff is based on a recent request for proposal for the city's planning department function that is due to expire May 31 of this year. The current contractor, Pacific Municipal Consultants (PMC), has held the contract since the city's incorporation in 2000.
Among the four companies submitting bid, according to an analysis by city staff, Willdan Engineering edged out PMC and scored highest in overall ranking.
In other business, the council will also hear an annual report on the development plan for the unfinished Elk Grove Promenade Mall. Construction of the outdoor mall on the city's south side was halted three years ago amidst the worldwide recession and the bankruptcy of it's then developer, Chicago-based General Growth Company.
The regular meeting starts at 6:00 p.m.
