Suspect crashes stolen SUV

A man suspected of robbing a vehicle was arrested early Wednesday morning after a high-speed pursuit.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, officers responded to an in-progress vehicle burglary call and saw 19-year old Marquis Youngblood driving away in a 2002 Toyota RAV4. When officer attempted to stop the suspect, he failed to yield and led officers on a pursuit that reached speed of up to 90 miles-per-hour.

After a short distance, Youngblood lost control of the vehicle and hit a building on the corner of Bruceville Road and Elk Grove Boulevard. The suspect then fled the scene on foot but was apprehended after officers established a perimeter.

After Youngblood was apprehended, the vehicle he was driving was found to be an unreported stolen vehicle. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
