An armed robbery of an Elk Grove restaurant included the the firing of a handgun on Saturday night.

According to Elk Grove Police Department reports, two suspects entered the Iron Wok restaurant on the 9300 block of Big Horn Boulevard Saturday night confronting employees and demanding money from the register. An employee opened the register and gave the one of the suspects an undisclosed amount of cash.

While still inside the restaurant the other suspect fired a single round from the handgun into the ceiling. No one was injured from the shot and the two suspects then fled the establishment on foot.

Responding officers established a perimeter but were unable to locate the suspects. The first suspect is described described as Black male adult 17 to 20 years old, 6 feet tall and skinny, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with dark pants. the second suspect is a Black male adult 17 to 20 years old, tall and skinny, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with jeans and had his face covered.
