Sphere of Influence update to be presented at Elk Grove City Council meeting

The Elk Grove City Council will hold a special meeting tonight that will include a presentation on the city's controversial sphere of influence (SOI) application by the Sacramento local Agency Formation Commission. 

Although tonight's special meeting is being held at the normal second Wednesday of the month, the city council has traditionally not scheduled the first meeting in August for a summer recess.

Along with an update of the SOI application, the council will consider halting plans on a trail improvement near Markofer School so that more public input can be obtained. The council also hear an economic impact analysis report on a proposed sports park and aquatic facility.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
