Tracks downs armed robber of cabby

An Elk Grove man was arrested after an armed robbery of a cabby late last night.

According to Elk Grove Police reports, the 33-year-old cab driver picked up a fare last night at Strike's bowling and drove to Frye Creek Drive and Lodestar Way in Elk Grove. When the cabby stopped, 31-year-old Jeremy Kenahuna handed the driver a $100 bill and while the driver was making change, Kenahuna pointed a handgun at the driver and fled the vehicle with all the money.

With the help of a K-9, responding officers were able to track the suspect to a residence on the 8700 block of Clay Glen Way. After being positively identified by the cabby, the suspected crook was arrested and taken to the count jail.

The crooks handgun used in the commission of the crime was not recovered but the cash was recovered.
