Holiday Shop Elk Grove Kicks Off Black Friday

Starting this Friday, more than 45 local businesses will be offering incentives and prizes for shopping locally this holiday season.

The annual Think, Shop, Live Elk Grove Holiday Shopping Program kicks off on November 25. Shoppers in Elk Grove can enter to win a $2,000 grand prize or dozens of other prizes from local businesses.

Shoppers can enter to win prizes by visiting any of the participating locations, filling out a raffle entry form and dropping it in the holiday bag. The more stores a shopper visits, the more opportunities are available to win prizes.

Shoppers are encouraged to check back often, as local businesses continue to sign up daily. The program runs through December 19 and winners will be announced on December 20, 2011.

"Now more than ever it is important for all of us to support our local business community by shopping at home for the holidays. This program gives shoppers an incentive to shop Elk Grove for all their holiday gifts,"  Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Angi Perry said. "This year we are inviting all Elk Grove businesses to participate, even those without a traditional retail store front, in hopes that we will continue to raise awareness of the variety of businesses right here in our own backyard."
