To be a council member you need a large check book and a very large super large mega large ego.Just look who we have ....
Really? You're going to bash a council member for showing up at a little league opening day to give a talk about doing your best and giving it your all? I suspect the council member was invited to speak at this event? I also suspect he has some experience as a coach, parent and player? Did you see any other city council member at the ceremony, giving his/her time to the community and to the kids? Isn't this Hume's district? Why wasn't he there? Maybe because Hume doesn't do "community" very well. Just because you don't agree with this council person, don't bash him for partaking in community events in which he was invited to attend? You'd bash him even more if he turned them down. As for his checkbook, perhaps you did not know that he darn near financed his entire election campaign himself because all the "usual suspects" were backing Leary. Getting tired of your constant bashing...get a hobby, a job or a mate...do something other than criticize. If you think you can do a better job, then file your papers and run for office.
I am so happy to see that free speech is only for thoese with their one sided opiun and anyone else can not speak their mind. Mabe you need to get a job. Or at least let other people have an opium. The Detrick camp, as little as it is, is out doing his bidding once again. What's the matter, the truth hurt? I wonder how many people Detrick strong armed for contributions to pay off his debt. No one put a gun to Detrick's head to fund himself.

Thank you I could not have said it any better. Also it does cost a lot to run for council and all of them have diped into his or her own pocket. But after elected and all the promies are fulfilled them the money starts coming in.It is called pay off. Look at all the unions that are giving money..

As long as the owner of this site allows it then yes free speech is alive and well; as it should be. However, along with professing the right to free speech comes the distinct possibility that someone, or two, may disagree with your views. It is also entirely within the realm of possibility that those expressing views contrary to yours may in fact be someone other than who you assume them to be.
Assumption only makes an ass out of you as I not only refuse to be a party to your ignorance I also refuse to pay for it!
