The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying the suspects involved in an armed robbery.

A forensic sketch artist has developed a composite sketch (photo below) of the armed suspect who was responsible for the April 6, 2012 robbery at the UPS Store (4801 Laguna Boulevard). During the robbery, an unidentified suspect entered the UPS Store and confronted a UPS driver.

The suspect, who was armed with a chrome or stainless steel revolver, walked the driver behind the employee counter area and ordered another employee inside the store to open the cash register. The employee complied and opened the cash register as directed.

The suspect then removed an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from inside the register. A second suspect entered the UPS store and stood near the employee counter area. Both suspects then exited the business and were last seen running towards Tegan Road.

The first suspect was described as an African-American male adult, twenty (20) years of age, six feet two inches tall (6’2”) with a medium build and was wearing a black hooded jacket with a black baseball hat that had a bright green bill. The suspect had on gray or blue jeans with black tennis shoes with a white strip on the bottom on the shoes. The suspect had a tattoo in cursive writing on his right cheek, and was armed with a handgun. The second suspect was described as an African-American male adult, twenty (20) years of age, five feet ten inches tall (5’10”). He was also wearing a black hooded jacket with blue jeans and white shoes.

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
