Elk Grove Man Appears in National Bowling Tournament

An Elk Grove man will be appearing at a national bowling tournament being held this weekend in Las Vegas.

Elk Grove bowler Donald Johnson will be participating the AMF’s National In-League Tournament April 27-28. Johnson beat out more than 25,000 bowlers nationwide for the opportunity and will compete for $50,000 over the two day tournament.

Reached by phone in Las Vegas Johnson said he was happy to have won the regional tournament that qualified him for the national tournament. Johnson, who has a 176 average and bowls in a league at Alpine Lanes in Sacramento said he was relaxed going into the tournament.

"It is exciting to be here," he added.
