With all precincts reporting, Republican Tony Amador beat fellow Republican Sophia Scherman to secure second place in the Ninth Assembly race. Amador gathered 8,770 votes (20.7 percent) to Scherman's 6,462 votes (15.3 percent).

Amador will face Democrat Dr. Richard Pan who came in first place with 15,808 votes (37.7 percent).
