Elk Grove mayoral candidate Greg Higley was the first person to file legally required campaign financing reports with the Elk Grove City Clerk on Wednesday morning.

According to information presented on his California Form 460, Higley raised $1,494 in momentary contributions. Of that $650 was a loan by Higley to his campaign with the balance coming from seven individuals, five of whom list Elk Grove addresses.

According to his 460 filing, Higley spent $1,104 during the six months ending June 30 leaving his campaign with a balance of $389. Higley is one of five candidates running to become Elk Grove's first directly elected mayor.
