Jake Rambo snags several endorsements.
Includes Sacramento Sheriff Scott Jones

Elk Grove Unified School District Trustee and candidate Jake Rambo announced several endorsements in the race for Area 6 seat this November.

Rambo, who was appointed last spring to fill a vacancy on the board, announced today that he has been endorsed by a long list of current and past elected officials. The endorsements come from Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones, Rancho Cordova Mayor David Sanders and Elk Grove council members Pat Hume and Sophia Scherman. Also endorsing Rambo are former EGUSD trustee Brian Myers and former Elk Grove Council member and 20-year EGUSD teacher Rick Soares.

"Jake is a dedicated community servant," Soares said. "He is committed to the best for our students.”

An Elk Grove High School graduate, Rambo is an Administrative Law Judge for the State of California and former prosecutor and has been recognized with more than 20 special awards of recognition from Elk Grove Unified for his service to district schools. Rambo's wife, Sonia, is a teacher for the Sacramento City Unified School District and their oldest son attends an EGUSD school.

Rambo will be facing challenger Steve Ly in the November general election. Both candidates will be also be appearing at the candidate forum being sponsored by Elk Grove News, Elk Grove Patch and the Sacramento Bee on Monday, September 17 at the Holiday Inn on Laguna Blvd.
