The City of Elk Grove has announced that tomorrow's planned opening of the Old Town ice rink has been delayed. In the city's press release no tentative opening date was provided.

But the City's web page is trying to sell advertising by saying 22,000 people will visit the rink. Please open soon so the taxpayers can try to earn their money back...
Fear not, the City's web site to advertisers says 22,000 people will come skating!
They'll come from near and far to reap the joys of skating and shopping in Old Town. Christmas music playing, sipping hot chocolate, maybe even a hot toddy or two. Food trucks lining the streets. Kiddies bundled in their coats and scarves...maybe even Santa will make an appearance if he's not too heavily booked.
I truly hope this is a success and my hard earned tax dollars I spent many days tolling in the fields earning is not wasted.
