Elk Grove GRASP To Hold SOI Community Forum This Tuesday

The local smart planning advocacy group Elk Grove Grasp will conduct a community forum on Tuesday, March 5 to discuss the City of Elk Grove's proposed expansion.

The city's proposed expansion, known as the Sphere of Influence (SOI) application, is currently before the Sacramento Local Agency Formation Commission, or LAFco. The application has been submitted in hopes of expanding the city's boundaries by over 12 square miles.

Tuesday meeting will discuss what exactly is the SOI, is Elk Grove engaged in smart land planning, are more homes and shopping centers needed and traffic and transportation. The guest speaker will be Alex Kelter, MD. (Read Kelter's viewpoint published by the Sacramento Bee regarding unhealthy sprawl.)

Tuesday's meeting will be held at the Elk Grove Public Library, 8900 Elk Grove Blvd., from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
