During
the "Etch and Catch" event, your vehicle's license plate number will be
etched onto your catalytic converter(s). The etching may deter thieves
from stealing your converter.
The presence of license plate numbers on
catalytic
converters can also provide law enforcement with the information needed
to identify stolen property, contact victims, and apprehend criminals.
This free "Etch and Catch" event is open to residents of all cities.
