The Elk Grove Food Bank Services has announced that it has received a $25,000 grant from Sacramento Valley Kaiser Permanente. The grant is earmarked for the operation of their Mobile Pantry program. The Program provides emergency food distribution to clients who live remotely or are without transportation to EGFBS's facility on Dino Drive.

With this grant volunteers will transport emergency food boxes to distribution sites in the 95757 and 95758 ZIP codes. Current distribution sites are at Point Pleasant United Methodist Church for farm workers and at Seasons at Laguna Ridge Apartments for senior residents.

With this grant, Elk Grove Food Bank Services will continue and expand services to senior residents at Renwick Square Apartments. Last month 23 additional households were at Renwick Square senior housing.
