A 16-year old skateboarding male was assaulted and robbed in Elk Grove yesterday afternoon.

According to Elk Grove Police, the victim rode his skateboard between two men on the 9000 block of Bruceville Road. One of the two unknown suspects punched the victim in his face while the other suspect kept the victim pinned down.

The suspects took the victim's cellphone and skateboard and fled the area on foot. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspects.

White, Black, Latino or Asian. Description of shirts, but no race? Possible age? What time?

Great description of the suspects. Hopefully in the last four days they haven't changed clothes or, you know, put down the yard fan.

The actual description of the suspects as reported by EGPD -- two black male juveniles -- isn't much better, but I'm trying to make a point. You cannot be afraid to describe suspects. Physical descriptions, including skin color and/or race, are much more important identifiers than clothing.

(And to the previous commenter, this occurred at approximately 4 p.m.)
