Back by popular demand, well-known local blues musician Gary Mendoza will headline a free foot‐stomping community blues concert in Elk Grove this Saturday, July 13.

The Musical History of the Blues performance, hosted by the Elk Grove Committee for the Arts, will feature the Gary Mendoza Band and Elk Grove student musicians. The two hour concert follows the history of blues in America, including back porch, Delta, and Chicago styles that have rocked juke joints and cabarets of the past.

Free tickets are available at www.elkgrovecity.org/concerts. The concert will be held at the Cosumnes Oaks High School Performing Arts Center and starts at 7 p.m.

Saw this program @ Sheldon HS a few months back. This is an incredible program, esp considering it's FREE. If you're not doing anything on Sat night, get out and see this. You won't be disappointed.

I've paid $35 for shows that weren't as good as this.
