A male juvenile suspect was arrested early last night following a suspected shoplifting incident.

According to Elk Grove Police, the 15-year old Elk Grove suspect was observed shoplifting merchandise at the Elk Grove Blvd. Wal Mart by a loss prevention employee. When the suspect exited the store without paying, he was approached by a store employee.

When confronted, the suspect refused to stop and began fighting. The suspect allegedly punched the employee in the face and continued fighting until EGPD officers arrived.

The suspect was taken into custody then transported to juvenile hall. The loss prevention officer suffered a visible injury but did not require medical treatment.

Did Walmart give him a beer to cool off?

As we were told, Wal Mart is no more a crime center than any other store. Mr. Cooper's concerns are being fleshed out right in front of our eyes.

Wal-Mart, such a great community partner! They do so much for us. Here, there ferret out the local shoplifters, getting them off the street for 48 hrs.

Looks like Councilman Cooper hit the nail on the head Wed night. These stores are magnets for "evildoers."

Why our council bows to their every request to the detriment of our local shops just kills me.
