Elk Grove Police were able to apprehend one of two people suspected of attempting an armed home invasion robbery yesterday.

According to police reports, two people were in a residence on the 9100 block of Elk Grove Blvd. when two unknown males attempted to force their way into the residence.  One of the suspects was armed with a handgun which he stuck through the doorway while one of the victims attempted to close the door.

The suspects did not gain entry and fled the scene. A witness saw the suspects fleeing in a vehicle and obtained a license plate and description.

Through investigative efforts, 25-year old Adrien Andrew Abeyta of Elk Grove was located at his residence along with the described vehicle. The suspect and his vehicle were positively identified by a victim and witnesses as being involved in the crime.

Abeyta was arrested and taken to the county jail where he remains on custody on a $165,000 bail. The second suspect was not located.
