The arrests of individuals in two separate incidents yesterday by Elk Grove Police led to the discovery of additional arrest warrants for the suspects.

A suspected shoplifting at the Elk Grove Blvd. Walmart led to the arrest of 22-year old Tranice Smith of Sacramento. A records search revealed that Smith, who provided officers with a false identity, had other two misdemeanor burglary arrest warrants.

Smith is in custody at the county jail and is ineligible for bail for breaking terms of her parole. An accomplice who was with Smith at Walmart evaded arrest.

Last night police also arrested 30-year old Andrea Valentine of Sacramento on suspicion of drunk driving. After failing a field sobriety test near Sheldon and Grantline roads, a records check revealed the suspect had active warrants for her arrest.

Valentine remains in custody at the county jail and is ineligible for bail.
