Thanks to the help of a vigilant eyewitness, Elk Grove Police were able to apprehend two juveniles suspected of trying to steal a laptop computer Tuesday night.

According to police reports, the 31-year old male victim had arranged to meet a 17-year old male on the 5100 block of Laguna Blvd. to sell a laptop computer. Unbeknownst to the victim, according to a witness, the 17-year old was accompanied by a 16-year old male who left the area prior to the victim's arrival.

When the victim arrived, the 17-year old reportedly tried to forcibly take  the computer and a struggle ensued that resulted in the victim being struck several times and pushed against a wall. After the struggle, the computer fell to the ground and the 17-year old fled on foot.

A witness followed 17-year old who met up with his younger accomplice. Both suspects were located at their residences, taken into custody and booked into juvenile hall. The victim sustained visible injuries.

It is nice to know that there are still people in our town that will aid when other people are in trouble.
