UPDATED 9 a.m.

Cosumnes Community Services District Director Rich Lozano has announced his re-election bid has received several individual and group endorsements, including one from the Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 22.

“In looking at whom to endorse for the CCSD Board the choice was easy, Rich Lozano,” Chris McNay, Cosumnes District Director for Sacramento Area Fire Fighters Local 522 said. “He has shown a commitment to understanding the issues our firefighters face and is always available to discuss our concerns.”

Lozano, who was first elected to the CCSD in 2010 and it the board current president, is seeking one of two seats open in this election cycle. There are two other candidates in this race including incumbent Rod Brewer Gil Albiani and challenger Orlando Fuentes.

“I am honored to have the support of individuals and organizations from across the District,” Lozano said. “I have worked side by side with these business, community and elected leaders to provide our communities with the best services possible."

In the original posting, Gil Albiani was mistakenly identified as the incumbent when it should have been Rod Brewer.

So first the firefighters and now Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce only endorse Lozano for the CCSD. Both of these groups usually endorse all of the incumbents for both CCSD and City Council. What did Brewer do to not get these automatic endorsements?

I doubt the chamber will be endorsing Fuentes, so could it be his reported flip flop appearance at city hall?

Maybe because he was "Flip-flopping" down at the city council chambers waiting for his appointment.
