With less than two weeks until the general election, the tone of the mailers being sent by, or on behalf of, Roger Dickinson and Dr. Richard Pan is getting downright muddy.

Pan and Dickinson, both Sacramento-based Democrats and two-term Assembly Members, are vying for the Sixth District California Senate seat being vacated by the term-limited Darrell Steinberg. In mailers received this week, the mud is being flung.

Pan's mailer, which was send by California Apartment Association Independent Expenditure Committee, alleges that when Dickinson was a Sacramento County Supervisor and an Assembly Member, he was complicit in a variety of wrongdoings. Among the alleged misdeeds were secret deals with the former owners of the Sacramento Kings and problems at Sacramento County's child protective services.

On the other side, a mailer sent by Dickinson's campaign essentially calls Pan a hypocrite. The mailer also includes another touchstone of Dickinson's strategy - highlighting Pan's acceptance of his Assembly Member per diem.

In the last two days there were IE's done against Dickinson and for Pan totaling almost $1 million. If you think what we have received so far is bad, it looks like the airways are about to be flooded.

LOL, Jeff, you can always call the Ly Camp. I'm sure they still have some left. I wanted a tree but the Chaires camp didn't come through. I guess I will call the Ly camp and give them my vote too.
