Elk Grove Police Arrests Trio For Stolen Guns, Armed Robbery, Drugs

Three suspects, including one juvenile, are in custody today facing a variety of weapons and drug charges.

Late last night Elk Grove Police officers were dispatched to the 8100 block of Civic Center after receiving a call regarding an armed robbery. The victim indicated that a cell phone had been taken by two armed suspects who fled in a black SUV.

Responding officers located the described vehicle in the 7400 block of Laguna Blvd. occupied by 18-year old Stratis Elmore of Elk Grove, 18-year old Derayne Isaac Duncan of Sacramento and a 17-year old male juvenile. The occupants were detained and officers located an expended shell casing on the hood of the vehicle lodged underneath the base of the windshield wiper on the driver`s side.

Officers also observed a bullet hole near the top of the front passenger side door just above the windshield. A record check revealed that Duncan was on probation, and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of two stolen handguns, three loaded high capacity magazines, and marijuana.

Stratis and Duncan were arrested and booked into the county jail where they are being held on a variety of felony weapons and drug charges, and the 17-year old was transported to juvenile hall. The victim who initially reported the robbery was not located.
