Work Finished - Elk Grove's Sheldon-Waterman Roundabout Set To Open Tomorrow

After a little more than four weeks, construction on the new roundabout at the intersection of Sheldon and Waterman roads in The City of Elk Grove is scheduled to open on Monday, August 8.

The roundabout in the city's rural area was constructed in hope of alieving heavy traffic on one of the main east-west arteries connecting Elk Grove commuters to employment centers in the cities of Folsom and Rancho Cordova. 

As part of the project, the city has installed several pieces of public art including iron silhouettes of horses and cows, antique farm implements, and the centerpiece at the center of the roundabout, a windmill. A formal opening ceremony will be held this Autumn after completion of landscaping.
