In early results for the contest for California's 7th Congressional District, Democratic incumbent Dr. Ami Bera has taken a strong early lead over Republican challenger Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones.
With 719 of 1,297 precincts reporting:
Bera - 47,427 53.98%
Jones - 40,434 46.02%
