Suspect Arrested For Assaulting Stockton Police Officer Found to be Out-of-state Escapee

A man arrested on Sunday night on suspicion of assaulting a police officer was found to be an out-of-state escapee.

On the evening of Sunday, January 29, avery White, 26, assaulted an officer on the 2200 block of Waterloo Road. The assault came after Stockton Police responded to calls regarding transient complaints.

After being arrested and processed, a fingerprint search revealed the suspect had given a false name. The search revealed the suspect's true identity as 34-year old Michael Soarie, an escapee  from Washington.

Additional charges were added and the suspect is to be extradited back to Washington.
