With a deadline of Friday, March 31, three of the five Elk Grove City Council members have filed their state-mandated annual economic interests statements for 2016.

The three members filing their reports include Steve Detrick, Pat Hume, and Stephanie Nguyen. Their filing dates were on February 28, March 22 and March 3 respectively.

Filings must be submitted or postmarked by March 31, and the Elk Grove City Clerk's office usually posts the documents to their website within one day of submission. Nguyen filed her reports electronically with the California Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) on March 3 and the City Clerk's time stamp shows they received it on March 7.

The most recent updates to their website show the City Clerk's office have not posted statements from Mayor Steve Ly or Council Member Darren Suen. It is possible they filed with the FPPC, mailed on Friday, March 31, or filed on time at the City Clerk's office and yet to be posted.

For Detrick and Hume, their statements showed near-identical entries of gifts they accepted during 2016. Both Council Members attended the Annual Cap to Cap lobbying trip to Washington DC sponsored by the Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, and all the gifts they reported are related to that event.

Detrick accepted meals, or partial payment of meals for him and his spouse, during the trip from Teichert Aggregates, Sutter Health, Republic Services, Dignity Health, Kaiser Permanente, Easton, Western Health Advantage, Heffner Law Office, and Delfino, Madden, O'Malley, Coyle.

Hume accepted meals, or partial payment of meals from Teichert Aggregates, Sutter Health, Kaiser Permanente, Heffner Law Office, and Delfino, Madden, O'Malley, Coyle.

Appointed to the City Council in February, Nguyen filed an initial report and is not required to document her interests before assuming office.
