Juvenile Arrested by Elk Grove Police For Stealing Vehicle, Resisting Arrest

A 17-year old male juvenile was taken into custody after he allegedly stole a vehicle and tried to avoid apprehension.

On the late afternoon of Monday, August 14 Elk Grove Police responded to the vicinity of Chattan Way and Glencannon Way regarding calls of a reckless driver. Responding officers observed the suspect walking away from the reported stolen vehicle.

When officers attempted to contact the suspect, he fled to a nearby apartment complex. After officers established a perimeter, the suspect was taken into custody with the assistance of a K-9 unit. 

The suspect was placed in juvenile hall after being medically cleared for incarceration at a local hospital.
