Probationer Allegedly Spat on Elk Grove Police Officer, Lands in Jail

A Sacramento man is being held at the county jail on several charges after he allegedly spat on an Elk Grove Police officer.

Just before 9 p.m. on Monday, June 19 officers contact Vy Thuy Nguyen (pictured above), 39 on the 8400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard after he appeared to be intoxicated and upset. Upon contact, Nguyen allegedly spat on the officer and resisted attempts to be restrained. 

During the struggle, Nguyen reportedly attempted to pull the officer into oncoming traffic. With the assistance of other officers, the suspect was restrained. 

A record check revealed Ngueyn was on probation. Nguyen is being held on three misdemeanor, one felony charges and will be arraigned on Wednesday, June 20.
