Drunk driving suspect flees injury accident, witnesses aid Elk Grove Police in apprehension

Thanks to witnesses, An El Dorado Hills man was arrested after he allegedly fled an injury accident.

On Saturday, October 27 just after 1 p.m. Ian James Castro, 46 was witnessed operating a vehicle that was involved in an injury accident on the 8900 block of Grant Line Road in Elk Grove. The accident resulted in the injury of two victims in the other vehicle.

Witnesses who followed Castro after he fled the scene in his vehicle were able to box him in and prevent his from leaving. Responding Elk Grove Police officers placed Castro under arrest on suspicion of drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident. 

Castro was booked into the county jail and has been released on bail.
