Two Elk Grove men, one of who had an outstanding arrest warrant and the other a probationer attempt to evade detention by police officers.
On the evening of Monday, December 10, Elk Grove Police officers attempted to contact Samuel Michael Smoke, 30, who had an active arrest warrant on the 8600 block of Hummingbird Way in central Elk Grove. Both suspects ran out of the back of the house but were caught.
A record check showed that along with his arrest warrant, Smoke, and his companion, Prince Wilkerson, 25, both are on probation. Wilkerson has been released after being booked into the Sacramento County jail while Smoke remains in custody ineligible for bail.
