Ashby maintains lead over Jones in Senate District 8, but both candidates remain silent

Although Angelique Ashby has maintained her lead over Dave Jones in the California State Senate District 8 race, both candidates have remained silent on the latest vote tallies.
The Sacramento County Voters Registration and Elections released the most current vote tallies yesterday afternoon, showing Ashby with 94,685 votes for 51.49 percent. Jones has 89,197 votes for 48.51 percent.
With a 46 percent voter countywide, there are approximately 20,000 uncounted ballots for the District 8 race. For Jones to overcome Ashby, he would need to win at least 60 percent of the remaining votes.
While Ashby's lead would appear to be firm with the remaining ballots, neither she nor Jones has issued statements on their standings.
The next vote release will be on Tuesday, November 29. At that time, the winner will be determined.
