Ashby maintains narrow lead over Jones in State Senate District 8 race

With two vote tallies released, Angelique Ashby has maintained a three percent lead over Dave Jones in the contentious race for State Senate District 8. 

Ashby currently has 51 percent for 32,661 votes, while Jones has 48 percent for 30,200 votes.

The District 8 race has been filled with sharp elbows. Although Jones beat Ashby by 13 percent in the June three-candidate primary race, Ashby has been aided by a substantial advertising campaign funded by independent expenditure committees.
