During the Wednesday, June 28, Elk Grove City Council meeting, Elk Grove Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen was lauded for her "visionary leadership." As part of that expression of appreciation, the mayor was presented with a token of appreciation.

Presenting the token was the longtime Elk Grove City Council observer and smart planning advocate, Ms. Lynn Wheat. The gift given to Singh-Allen was a pair of slippers adorned with red lipstick.

Noting the extensive postings on her social media accounts documenting her activities, Wheat said she appreciated Singh-Allen's efforts and "see that you are doing an outstanding job" representing the city's interest.

Wheat cited Singh-Allen's numerous efforts, including the initiative to relocate the Sacramento Zoo to Elk Grove and "getting your council members to agree with you so that you are a united front in any policy in any position or policy statements that would choose to make."

As a token of that work, Wheat displayed the slippers. See Wheat's commentary and the mayor's reaction in the video below.

Lynn Wheat was brilliant! I was waiting for Mayor BSA, a la Sally Field, to flip on her microphone and profess, “And I can’t deny the fact that you like me. Right now, you like me!”

Tim Russert would be very proud!
