That's a valid observation; we do elect idiots, both locally and nationally...and it seems it's only getting worse. If you have the money and the key endorsements you'll be elected regardless of your qualifications and worthiness for office. Voter apathy is rampant in the political spectrum and the failure of our public school system to adequately educate and teach analytical thought is destroying our democracy, both in voters and candidates.
