Take on the 10-Mile Swim Challenge! |
Don’t let the cold
weather stop you from staying active! The heated pools at the Elk Grove
Aquatics Center and Wackford Aquatic Complex offer a comfortable,
refreshing way to keep moving all season.
Kick off your New
Year’s resolutions with the 10-Mile Swim Challenge this January and
February! See if you can reach 704 laps—the distance needed to hit 10
miles! The challenge takes place during lap swimming hours at the Elk
Grove Aquatics Center, open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Advanced registration is required to
participate, so be sure to sign up early!
If instructor-led
classes are more your style, consider trying Aqua HIIT, H20 Strength,
Aqua Jogging, Aqua Stretch & Tone, Tabata, Shallow Water Fitness, or
Deep Water Fitness. No matter how chilly it gets, the pools will keep
you warm as you work toward your fitness goals.

Join Elk Grove’s Arts & Creative Economy Commission |
Are you an artist,
performer, creative business owner, arts educator, collector, or simply a
passionate supporter of the arts? The City of Elk Grove is calling on
passionate residents to apply for seven (7) voting member positions on
the Arts and Creative Economy Commission.
The Arts and Creative
Economy Commission will advise the City Council and staff on programs,
projects, and strategies to grow and sustain Elk Grove's arts and
creative economy. This includes recommending the type, location, and
maintenance of public art, guiding the development and updates of a
comprehensive arts strategy, and promoting Elk Grove as a destination
for arts and creativity. The Commission will present an annual report on
the state of the arts and creative economy and fulfill additional tasks
as assigned by the City Council or City Manager.
This is your chance to give back, make an impact, and be part of something bigger. Apply by February 5.

Non-Profit Help: Grant Application Period Opens This Week |
With additional
funding, nonprofits can do so much more for our community. To support
this work, the City encourages Elk Grove nonprofit organizations to
apply for the next round of grants available for programs, projects, and
events in FY 2025-26. The online application period opens this Friday, January 10. The City will host a technical assistance webinar on Tuesday, January 21 from
12:30 – 2:30 pm. Staff will provide an overview of the eligibility
requirements and the application process and offer technical assistance
to prospective applicants.
Applications will be
accepted exclusively through the City’s online application process.
Details about the individual grant programs, applications, and their
deadlines are available by visiting elkgrovecity.org/grants. For
