Measure E: Keeping an Eye on Your Tax Dollars

The Measure E Citizens’ Oversight Committee, a group of seven dedicated volunteers appointed by the Mayor, plays a critical role in reviewing how funds from Measure E, Elk Grove’s general sales tax measure, are managed.

This committee meets at least twice a year to ensure transparency and accountability. They review revenues and expenditures, examine annual independent financial audits, and evaluate proposed budgets to confirm that spending aligns with community priorities. Their work culminates in an annual report, which they present to the City Council.

Interested in seeing oversight in action? These meetings are open to the public and provide a chance to stay informed. Mark your calendar for the next meeting on Monday, January 27, at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, located at 8400 Laguna Palms Way.

Join Elk Grove’s Arts & Creative Economy Commission

Are you an artist, performer, creative business owner, arts educator, collector, or simply a passionate supporter of the arts? The City of Elk Grove is calling on passionate residents to apply for seven (7) voting member positions on the Arts and Creative Economy Commission.

The Arts and Creative Economy Commission will advise the City Council and staff on programs, projects, and strategies to grow and sustain Elk Grove's arts and creative economy. This includes recommending the type, location, and maintenance of public art, guiding the development and updates of a comprehensive arts strategy, and promoting Elk Grove as a destination for arts and creativity. The Commission will present an annual report on the state of the arts and creative economy and fulfill additional tasks as assigned by the City Council or City Manager.

This is your chance to give back, make an impact, and be part of something bigger. Apply by February 5.

Non-Profit Help: Grant Application Period Now Open

The online application period is now open. The City will host a technical assistance webinar on Tuesday, January 21 from 12:30 – 2:30 pm. Staff will provide an overview of the eligibility requirements and the application process and offer technical assistance to prospective applicants.

Applications will be accepted exclusively through the City’s online application process. Better Connectivity Coming Soon

Enhanced cell coverage is on the way in key parts of the city. In addition to the installation of a number of new small cell wireless facilities added throughout the city, a new cell tower was recently added at Luttig Park, near Kohl’s, and the City is in the process of finalizing a lease to add another tower at District56. Both towers are expected to host multiple carriers, ensuring better coverage and capacity for a variety of wireless providers.

These upgrades mean fewer dropped calls, faster data speeds, and improved overall reliability for residents and businesses alike. View the details and the locations of telecommunications towers in the city
